The Story

Outstanding Rare Antique Mid/Late-19th Century German Heraldic Intaglio Seal Silver Signet Ring

Masterly Carved Carnelian Gemstone Featuring a German Coat of Arms with a Dog on the Shield, Ornate Mantling and Helm Below the Owners Initials L.H Written in Negative. This Relief Engraving Would Have Been Used as a Seal with Wax.

The Intaglio is Set Within a Smooth Oval Bezel and is Attached to an Equally Ornate Scroll-Work Rococo Revival Shank with Bifurcated Shoulders. The Curling, Swirling Contours are a Hallmark of 18th Century European Rococo Design, Which Abandoned the Harsh Edges of Baroque Style in Favour of Fluid Curves to Extend a Sense of Infinite Movement

The Most Beautiful Part of This Ring (In My Opinion) is Only Visible When the Ring is Taken Off the Finger. The Inside of the Band Has Been Elegantly Coated in Gold Which Gives the Ring a Secretive Element to It

UK Size Q 1/4, 3.33g
