The Story

This petite solitaire ring dates to the early 19th century, circa 1820 and was made in France. In the centre of the silver crimpled collet setting rests a very shallow rose cut diamond, typical of the Georgian period.

The fluted band is crafted in 18K gold and features four raised ridges all around. The ring is stamped with a left-facing ram’s head hallmark, which indicates that it is crafted from 18K gold and made in Paris between 1819 and 1838.

A very wearable and collectable piece of French Georgian era jewellery! The ring is in overall good condition with some wear commensurate with age; a tiny pierced hole at back of band not visible when worn, and some evidence of repair/resizing.

UK ring size G, US size 3.25

The ring weighs 2.05g. Diamond measures 4mm in diameter, band measures 6mm in width.
