This stone carving would typically have been brought back by a young wealthy gentleman on the Italian leg of the grand tour to later be tuned into jewellery for a partner or family member. The coral is carved into the shape of a rose, a symbol of love. It is bezel set in a smooth egg cup shaped bezel which leads to plain band crafted in 18K gold.
