Edwardian Old Cut Diamond Ring

A classic Edwardian three stone diamond ring in rich 18K yellow gold, dating to around 1910. This is the archetypal early twentieth century band that characterises the delicacy and timelessness of Edwardian design. The smooth, slightly tapered band is crafted in buttery gold and set flush with three old cut diamonds. Together the stones weigh approximately 0.4 carats and are neatly graduated across the finger, each held in individual bezel settings that sit harmoniously within the gold.

The diamonds antique cutting style gives them the characteristic inner fire and open light return that is so distinct from modern brilliant cuts. The ring sits comfortably low on the hand, making it ideal for everyday wear. Its form allows it to stack elegantly with other antique bands, but it is equally suited to stand alone as a restrained and timeless engagement ring.

The interior bears faded hallmarks consistent with 18K gold and the ring tests accordingly. Weighing 3.78 grams, it is offered in good antique condition with a soft, even patina from more than a century of wear.
